Inn at Herr Ridge
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The enchanting atmosphere of the Inn at Herr Ridge is unforgettable. The inn offers a rare experience to every guest who crosses the threshold, and it is only minutes from town. If you are searching for a relaxing and romantic getaway, search no further!
Bed and Breakfast Description

Welcome to the Inn at Herr Ridge, which was established as a tavern and public house in 1815 by Thomas Sweeney. In 1828 he sold his tavern to Fredrick Herr. Mr Herr operated the tavern until his death in 1869 when it became the Reynolds Hotel for about 10 years, catering to the many tourists that were coming to the now famous historic Gettysburg Battlefield.
The Tavern then became a private residence until 1978 when the Herr Tavern was again open to the public. We now offer fine dining as well as sixteen beautiful guest rooms and two parlors in our bed and breakfast. We are delighted you have joined us for dinner this evening. After your dinner this evening, please feel free to take a walk throughout the house to enjoy the many different rooms.
A walk across the parking lot will take you to Sharpshooters Grille, a lounge with pool tables, dart machine, and jukebox. We appreciate your comments on your dining experience, and any suggestions you may have to increase your pleasure here. Take a moment with our comment card and drop it in the comment box as you leave. Enjoy fine American Cuisine in our fine dining restaurant from 11AM to 9PM, Wednesday through Saturday, and from 5PM to 9PM on Sunday. Reservations are recommended. The original main house features five dining areas that accommodate twenty to thirty-five guests in each room.
