At the turn of the century, Rosa Murphy, the private secretary of John D. Rockefeller met Dr. Amos Canfield in New York City. They married and decided to spend their summers in Candor, N.Y. Here their Georgian home was created in the center of the village and Rosa's elegant Victorian style became well known.

The well maintained formal home exists as it did then, with its leaded glass windowed porch, marble fireplaces, parquet floors, beautiful stairway, gardens, pergola and inviting atmosphere.

Epicurean breakfasts are served in a genteel manner. Coddled eggs may be served. All pastries and breads are made on premises with attention to your health. We invite you to browse our gift shoppe. We are located in a small, quiet village, ideal for a relaxing and revitalizing vacation stay.
