This casual, contemporary ranch house combines luxury with the charms and pleasures of a simpler time. This owner-built passive solar home was designed to be cool in the summer and warm in the winter, reflecting the extremes of climate typical of the high desert mountain west.
A full ranch breakfast, served at the handmade table in the sitting room, might include house specialties like omelets Florentine or Provencal. Enjoy fresh-brewed coffee and imported teas, homebaked specialty breads and muffins. Our table is seasonal, depending on what's in the garden. Breakfast is served on pottery plates made here on the ranch in the studio. Any kind of special diet can be accommodated with prior arrangements.
Area Attractions and Activities: At the ranch explore nature and birdwatching. Try your hand at pottery, stroll around the pond, enjoy the swimming pool, the privacy and a great breakfast. With expansive views to the south and west, this house reflects its western heritage. Spacious patios and outdoor areas surround the house, and the evening breeze down the canyon brings the smell of the sage and the haunting cry of the coyote. In the winter Deer Run is a great place to curl up with a book by the fire or try ice skating on the pond.
