Escape to the casual elegance of the Old Gratitude House, a Chesapeake Bay bed and breakfast, where Sandy & Hank await with their two Westies, Mikey & Jamie. A relaxing waterfront inn, the Old Gratitude House, is a recent addition to Rock Hall, Maryland. There is a magic at our Eastern Shore bed and breakfast that is reminiscent of an era when paddle boats and steam ships plied the bay with vacationers to the many summer homes on our tree-lined street.

Oyster men, tongers and dredgers, Chesapeake pirates, crabbers and rock fishermen all left their mark on our special slice of Chesapeake heaven. The mesmerizing waters of the Bay will uplift your spirit and restore your soul.

Yes, the banner is a picture from our backyard. Don't let our conservative Victorian front porch fool you; we are the only bed and breakfast immediately on the Chesapeake Bay with a view 18 miles across to the Maryland western shore. Take Route 20 to the water and the most magnificent sunsets in the world. The 1812 Overture's cannons timed perfectly when the sun hits the horizon, is a very special ending to a perfect day.

Whether you are arriving by car or boat, visiting friends with a boat or looking to unwind and relax, the Old Gratitude House will be your home away from home.
