A four story Federal style home furnished in antiques, originally the 1790's home of a Charleston journalist & Jeffersonian politician, Peter Freneau. All rooms have decorative fireplaces, hardwood floors, high ceilings with moldings.

Charleston, South Carolina bed and breakfast: King George IV Inn

Located in the heart of the historic district and short walk to shopping and dining. Walk to all historic sights, shops and restaurants. Eight rooms have private baths, two rooms (7 and 8) share a bath. All rooms have cable TV, refrigerators, telephones, and air conditioning. Off street parking is provided.

Enjoy breakfast in the quaint Breakfast Room on the 1st floor, or eat on the porches. Breakfast is very relaxed and easy going: help yourself to a Southern Style breakfast with eggs, sausage grits, waffles, and homemade bread: along with cereal, fresh fruits, herbal and flavored teas, juice, breakfast yogurts and a nice robust French Roast Coffee. Some mornings we have stuffed croissants with ham and cheese or spinach and feta. Refreshments are available all day in the Breakfast Room.



Area Attractions and Activities:

Located in the heart of the Historic district, King George IV Inn is a one minute walk to King Street shopping and restaurants and a five minute walk to this Historic Market. Catch the boat to Ft. Sumter by just walking to the end of Calhoun St. The Charleston Museum and SC Aquarium are just minutes away.

#5: Suite with Georgian-style carved queen-size mahogany bed. Sitting area with love seat and wingback chairs, all on a blue Oriental rug. Full private bath with antique clawfoot tub. Direct access to the third floor porch.

#6: Suite with queen size 4 poster carved mahogany Sheraton bed. Antique triple armoire, end tables, full size sofa and side chairs, formal tall ceilings, architectural ceiling molding, suite opens onto 3rd floor porch.
