Bed and Breakfast Description

Anchorage, Alaska bed and breakfast: Big Bear Bed & Breakfast

This year, we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary!

Carol has enjoyed sharing her home and knowledge of Alaska with B&B guests since 1990. The Big Bear Bed & Breakfast is a smoke, pet and fragrance free environment. In consideration of our guests and staff please refrain from using fragrant products. Smokers are welcome to visit our beautiful backyard garden.

In the mornings, wake up to Carol's full breakfasts, featuring Alaskan foods such as sourdough waffles, wild berry toppings, reindeer sausage, blueberry coffee cake and salmon quiche, plus her homemade Danish bear paws and other baked specialties. Carol is a field editor for Taste of Home Magazine

Carol's late husband Bill, was a carpenter, whose craftmanship can be discovered throughout the home and in the beautiful stained glass that he has designed and built.

Your host is a Certified Tour Guide and can give suggestions for a memorable Alaskan experience. Proud member of Anchorage Alaska Bed & Breakfast Association, Bed & Breakfast Association of Alaska, Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau, Better Business Bureau of Alaska, Daughters of the American Revolution, Mt. View Lion's Club, and Alaska Master Gardener's Association.

Anchorage Alaska Bed and Breakfast Association members are licensed by the State of Alaska, permitted by the Municipality of Anchorage, insured and have successfully passed a peer inspection of health, safety & quality standards. We participate in AABBA's "Keeping Alaska Green Project".
