Bed and Breakfast Description

Adair offers guests award winning service, accommodations, food, spacious public spaces, and dramatic mountain views in a tranquil setting. It provides comfortably appointed rooms with private baths, A/C, antiques and original art. Most suites have fireplaces and mountain views, and some have romantic tubs for two.

Also available is a large and private two-bedroom cottage adjacent to our gated garden.

Our on-site acclaimed restaurant offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere. Our dinner menu is complemented by a full-service liquor license, selected wines and beers, and seasonal specialties. The restaurant is open to the public and to inn guests by reservation.

The Inn is surrounded by sweeping lawns, stone walls, gigantic pines, stately white birch, gardens originally designed by the Olmsted Brothers, a pond, and a reflecting pond. We have an extensive library, a billiards table, tennis court and walks around our property.

Fabulous hiking and trails, wildlife viewing, skiing (downhill - 3 major areas within 30 min, and cross-country), snowshoeing (we have snowshoes to lend), mountain biking, golf, two fantastic summer stock theaters close by, fishing, White Mountain National Forest, Franconia & Crawford Notches, the Flume,Cog Railway, Mount Washington and Twin Mountain.

Take advantage of tax-free NH shopping at several wonderful bookstores, gift shops, antique shops, and restaurants nearby. Arguably the best ice cream shop in New England within five minutes and an Italian bakery to tempt even the most devout dieter.

Most Popular Rooms:

Waterford: Spacious, romantic, elegant room with dramatic views of the Dalton Mountains, our gated garden, and reflecting pond. Cheerful room with six windows, corner fireplace, queen bed, large bathroom with two-person soaking tub.

Kinsman: Large, romantic suite with king size sleigh bed, gas fireplace with comfortable reading chairs, floor to ceiling windows to balcony with views of rear gardens and both Dalton and Presidential Mountains, and huge two-person whirlpool bath.

Reservation Notes:

Check-in & Check-out Check-in is between 3:00 and 8:00 PM unless prior arrangements have been made. Check-out is by 11:00 AM, but guests are welcome to spend as much time as desired in and around Adair after checking out. Deposits A deposit of one half of your stay is required within seven days of making your reservation. Credit Cards American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa Confirmation Written confirmation will be sent to you (vis USPS or e-mail) upon receipt of your deposit. Please check the dates carefully as your deposit will be forfeited if you arrive after the dates specified or depart before date reserved. Cancellations A 15 day notice of change of reservation dates or cancellation is required for a refund of deposit, less a $20.00 processing fee. For cancellations with less than 15 days notice, deposit will be refunded provided that the room is rebooked for all nights of the reservation. Children Adair is not appropriate for children under the age of 12. Smoking Adair is a non-smoking inn.
