Executive Chef Gregory Lutes is extraordinarily talented and very highly rated. His food philosophy is to create California mountain seasonal cuisine rooted in French classics. Lyle, a gold panner, died in 1927 in room 15, and apparently never checked out. Lyle is friendly and doesn't seem to mind company. His only dislike is women's cosmetics on his dresser. He'll move them for you. Each distinctive room is beautifully appointed with European antiques, feather beds with down comforters, luxurious robes, private baths and items to make your stay special.
