The Inn features magnificent ocean views, a private path to a cliff above the ocean, colorful country gardens, comfy pillow-top mattresses, private baths, many with antique clawfoot soaking tubs, a fireplace in every room, luxurious personalized amenities, warm fluffy robes, and a bountiful breakfast served daily in our ocean-view Sunroom or on our wrap-around porch.

Perched on a hill overlooking Penobscot Bay and the islands for 120 years, the Victorian by the Sea is the perfect spot to unwind. The Inn has a peaceful location where the only sounds you may hear are waves crashing on the shore, the call of a Loon or Gull, or the lonely call of the fog horn.

A delicious breakfast is served daily in our oceanview Sunroom. Always available is our signature home-made granola, yogurt, fresh fruit and juices, coffee and teas. We alternate between a sweet or savory entree. Vegetarian options always available and we are able to acommodate most dietary concerns if given advance notice.

Cottage Apartment – Coming in 2009! A child-friendly, three-room apartment with galley kitchen on the second floor, adjacent to the main inn building. Will accommodate 4 guests in two queen sized beds. Available for daily, weekly, or monthly rentals. Works well with the Cottage Room for a party of six.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Whether you're seeking an active or restful vacation, the inn has it all. The Victorian is located two miles north of Camden Hills State Park which offers many hiking trails for all abilities, and some of the area's most breathtaking views. Ocean or lake kayaking are popular among our guests as well as biking.

The area offers antique stores, finely crafted furniture and textiles, art galleries and unique gift shops. Many fine restaurants feature local, seasonal products, and of course, lobster is king.

Take a sail on one of the popular schooners that sail daily in the summer season, or simply watch the sailing ships from the inn's wrap-around porch.

Don't overlook the quiet season with family friendly rates at the Camden Snow Bowl. X-country skiing, snowshoeing and one of the country's only tobaggon runs are available when the snow flies.

Most Popular Rooms:

Our Victorian Suite is most often requested by return guests and honeymooners. A bright and airy room, the Suite has a canopy bed, sitting room with fireplace, private bath with antique clawfoot soaking tub/shower, and five windows facing the bay.

The Sawyer Suite: Encompasses the entire third floor of the inn. A very private room with one of the best views Penobscot Bay from its balcony, the Sawyer Suite has a sitting room with gas fireplace, large bathroom with twin sinks and clawfoot tub.
