Bed and Breakfast Description

Annapolis, Maryland bed and breakfast: Chez Amis B&B

Chez Amis Bed and Breakfast still boasts a turn-of-the-century dry goods glass case in the living room of this friendly, comfortable home. The tin ceiling is also original and the floor boards in the living area originally held the canned goods when it was Sam's Brothers Grocery.

In the morning, enjoy a full gourmet breakfast at the Stammtisch, located on the main floor in a cozy corner of the old grocery store. Stammtisch is a German tradition of a table set aside for the family and friends. Fresh home-baked goods, fresh fruits year round and a main dish individually prepared, fruit juices, coffee and tea will keep you well fortified until mid-afternoon. Our meals are served on pottery made just for the Chez Amis!

All rooms have PRIVATE baths, TVs with DVD and VHS, coffee makers, fresh flowers, robes, king/queen beds, and down-filled comforters.

Each room has a theme based on the owners' past experiences. Don was an Army lawyer and Mickie was a tour guide in Washington, DC. The rooms are:
European Adventures: decorated with furniture, pictures and paintings from their living in Europe.

Judge's Chambers: Don's law background and friends who are judges make this room interesting.

Capitol Room: Don's work on Capitol Hill in Washington, plus the view of Maryland's State Capitol, are the basis for this room's theme.

Captain's Quarters: Don and Mickie love to sail their 41' sailboat so this nautical room is perfect for those who love this sport.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Annapolis has been voted (in two lists) one of the top ten places to live in AMERICA! This is no surprise to those of us who live here. Annapolis is the Sailing Capitol of America! ...and in October has America's Largest In Water Sail and Power Boat Shows. Sailing/boating on the Chesapeake is a major attraction here.

The United States Naval Academy is at the end of our street. It trains about 4,000 young women and men each year... and provides sporting events, parades, tours, and concerts for visitors to enjoy.

The Capitol of Maryland is seen from one of our rooms, the Capitol Room. The building is the oldest, continuously-operated Capitol Building in the U.S. and visitors can witness the legislative process and enjoy tours of the building.

Shopping and restaurants are abundant... with about 30 restaurants and shops within a five minute walk from Chez Amis B and B.

Tours of our Historic District are numerous... and we are in the middle of this wonderful area.

Most Popular Rooms:

The Capitol Room: This room has a view of the Maryland State Capitol building, a king size brass bed, handmade quilts, American antiques such as a school desk, church pew, dresser and sewing machine, photos of politicians, and a patriotic theme.

European Adventures: Contains many items brought back from Europe by the hosts. Features a king size bed and day bed with trundle. Walls are decorated with European paintings from Germany, Italy, France and England. On the main floor so no steps required.
