The Ambers is a charming old-style European country house set in 14 park-like acres with formal rose gardens, fountains, mature trees and olive grove. It is situated on the main road north, just 20 minutes north of Auckland. There are beautiful beaches, golf courses, cafes and restaurants nearby and the country market on Saturday mornings is always worth a visit. Tiri Tiri Matangi Island bird sanctuary is also close by and can be reached by local ferry. There are many coastal walks in the vicinity.

The Ambers, a luxury B&B, offers elegant country accommodation inclusive of full European-style cooked breakfast. Breakfast is served in our formal dining room with fine linen and silver tableware or on the terrace for a more relaxed start to the day. In the evening sit in the garden with complimentary before dinner drinks and appetizers or play a game of pétanque. In winter relax in front of a roaring open fire in our elegant lounge with a vintage sherry or port and play chess.

We have 4 double bedrooms, 3 with their own en suites. Choose from our elegant “Regency Room” or French style “Blue Room” both on the 1st floor, or our romantic attic suite with antique claw-footed bath. The two attic rooms make an ideal family suite. There is also a self-contained studio for even more privacy and relaxation.

In addition to English, we speak fluent Dutch, halting French and German, pocito Spanish, dan sedikit Bahasa Indonesia!

Area Attractions and Activities:

5 minutes from our B&B we have the SnowPlanet which is New Zealand's only all-year indoor snow resort and the Indoor Go Kart Centre and Bumper Boats. Also within 5 minutes is the Pro Aim Golf Driving Range where you can practice your golf. The Peninsula Golf Course is the local golf course and less than 10 minutes from our B&B. 15 minutes from the Ambers Luxury B&B there is Waiwera Thermal Spa Resort and a little further up is Couldrey House Museum which is set in the beautiful grounds of Wenderholm Regional Park

20-30 minutes from the Ambers Luxury B&B you’ll find the Gulf Harbour Golf Course which is known as an international standard golf course, and after a short ferry ride, Tiri Tiri Matangi Island which lies 4 km off the coast of Whangaparaoa Peninsula and Kawau Island with a historic Reserve and Mansion House. North of Warkworth there are six vineyards which are open to the public and offer wine tasting.

Enjoy our romantic attic suite with sloping ceilings and bathroom with antique claw footed bath or our elegant European style rooms with wonderfully comfortable beds and finest bed linen. The two attic rooms make an ideal family suite.

We also recently have started converting our barn into a self-contained studio which is across the courtyard from the main house. It has its own ensuite, tv, and a kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave and stovetop.
