 Our tropical decorated guest house was built in 1777 on the former coastline of Amsterdam and still has her original facade. One street behind is the longest shopping street in the Netherlands but Droogbak itself is very quiet. All tourist attractions are within walking distance. The rooms are decorated in nostalgic colonial style with a tropical accent. Each room has cable TV, refrigerator, digital radio alarm clock, coffee/tea making facilities (and video per request), and a private bathroom. Don't worry we also have nice beds! Area Attractions and Activities: This guest house is next to the famous Jordaan quarter where you can also find Anne Frank's house. Bike rental, shops, restaurants, coffee shops, (the ones where you do not drink coffee) cafés, cinemas, you will find all these just around the corner. The Area is called 'the Golden Reaal' in the old center 200 meters southwest from the Central Station. Parallel with 'Droogbak' (our street) are the Haarlemmerstraat' and the 'Brouwersgracht' (brewery canal). The Haarlemmerstraat is a former sea dike, now a very nice street with restaurants,(coffee)shops, barbers, laundry, and an art-deco cinema etc. The Brouwersgracht is one of the most beautiful canals connecting the 4 main canals. Our B&B is next to the famous Jordaan quarter where you can find markets on Saturday and Mondays. Walking Distances to: - Shops & Restaurants 1 min - Central Station 3 min - Canal Tours 3 min - Jordaan Area 3 min - Red Light District 5 min - Nearest Gay Scene 5 min - Anne Frank House 8 min Services: Private bathroom, fridge, TV, radio-alarm, VHS, DVD, CD, cell phone on request Most Popular Rooms: L-Shaped L Room is the most favored of our regular guests. It has access to a little patio/garden where smoking is allowed. It has a full bath and is very quiet. Together with the L-Room, the Blue room has access to the patio. Also decorated in tropical style. |
