Ballymaloe House

Shanagarry, Ireland.

Ballymaloe is a grand country house on a large family farm, east of Cork City, Ireland. Guests enjoy comfortable accommodations and an award winning restaurant in pleasant rural surroundings.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Shanagarry, bed and breakfast: Ballymaloe House

Hotel facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a 5 hole golf course, tennis court, croquet lawn and a children's play area. Short walks can be taken around the ponds and woodlands, as well as the two acre garden that provides most of the herbs, vegetables and fruits served in the restaurant.

Breakfast is casual and goes until quite late. Freshly laid eggs from the farm, fresh breads from the kitchen, homemade jams and marmalade, stone ground oatmeal from a local mill, all served on blue check table cloths.

All the biscuits, breads and deserts are made in our own bakery. Picnics and light or full lunches are available. Children's tea is a sociable occasion for the younger set. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes from chips to salads and roast chicken, or homemade burgers.

The dinner menu provides a choice of hot or cold starters, followed by a fish or paté course. The main course is a choice of fish, poultry or meat from our local butcher. A cheese board and desert trolley with petit fours and coffee or tea completes the meal. There is often live music in the evenings.
