Castello di Ripa d'Orcia

Castiglione d'Orcia, Italy.

The castle of Ripa d'Orcia dates back to and is set in a 12th Century Medieval Hamlet. Restored to a comfortable country residence bed & breakfast which offers hospitality along with the discovery of its fine wines and Extra Virgin Olive Oil production.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Castiglione d'Orcia, bed and breakfast: Castello di Ripa d'Orcia

The Castle of Ripa d'orcia was built in 1250 and has been in the family since 1484.

Since 1990 the owners, who produce wines and extra virgin olive oil, turned the hamlet in to a romantic country residence and B&B located at the heart of the Orcia valley, a marvelous spot characterized by unspoiled nature and lots of small towns rich in art, history and local traditions.

The House can offer six double bedrooms on a B&B basis and seven self-catering apartments along with the taste of its productions and of this uncontaminated part of the southern province of Siena.

A pool with breathtaking views over the Orcia valley has been open since May 2007.

We also offer a Wedding Chapel, and our meeting room can host groups as necessary.

The little restaurant of Ripa d’Orcia is open every night but Mondays. The menu includes some simple Tuscan dishes along with our estate wines. Two new wine labels designed by the famous Dutch artist Miriam Slaats enriches the refined Estate wines.

The Estate covers an area of 320 hectares, around 800 acres, 6 hectares of which are dedicated to vineyards all around the Castle and about 10 hectares of specialized olive trees located in the area of S. Quirico d’Orcia.
