B&B Il Tulipano

Camponogara, Italy.

Welcome to the B&B Il Tulipano. Marcello and Karin have been living in this beautiful farmhouse with large garden, in the Veneto region, near Venice since 2001. They spent the whole of 2002 renovating it into a cozy bed & breakfast.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Camponogara, bed and breakfast: B&B Il Tulipano

B&B il Tulipano is situated in the province of Venice in the village Camponogara-Prozzolo, 27 km from Venice and 22 km from Padua. You can catch a train to Venice from a railway station that is 1.5 km from our house.

You will be staying just a stone’s throw from Riviera del Brenta, a unique blend of history, culture, art, and scenery which wends its way from Padua to the Venice lagoon.

Our house is about 400 metres from the Church of Prozzolo in Via Don Bosco. The first part of the street is tarmac, while the last stretch is a sandy road that passes through maize and soya fields. The 1400 m2 garden is home to many types of fruit trees - apricot, apple, pear, almond, pomegranate, fig, peach, plum, and walnut - and herbs, such as lavender and rosemary.

While we were renovating the house, we sought to maintain its original simplicity and rustic feel. A glass archway, which we added ourselves, leads to the breakfast room, once a room for the stable-hands who would tend to the animals in the stall.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Venice is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. You can explore the city with a vaporetto (a river bus) that sails through the Canal Grande, admiring beautiful Palazzi, the Rialto bridge and Piazza San Marco. It is also lovely to stroll through the endless narrow lanes around the city and discover countless atmospheric squares and bridges. For a rest you can drop into a typical osteria for a panino and a glass of wine.

Burano is a fishing island near Venice famous for its production of lace and whose houses are painted in a rainbow of colours. After a pleasant walk around this small island a visit to a fish restaurant is a must. You can get there by boat from Venice.

The city of Padova, about 30km west of Venice, is not as well known as its famous neighbour but is certainly well worth a visit. The city is centred on the three squares around the Palazzo della Ragione... and much much more.
