Bed and Breakfast Description

Alamos, bed and breakfast: La Puerta Roja Inn

La Puerta Roja Inn first opened in 1991 when Teri Arnold threw wide the doors to her charming 19th century home to Alamos's weary travelers. Teri's colorful, inviting sense of style and her creative and delicious meals right away carried much appeal: her first guests returned home, described their stay to friends, who in turn told their friends, who then told their friends...

And today the B & B continues to hop with activity, smiles, and new faces. Friends regularly drop by for coffee or to check out a new piece of Mexican folk art. Teri has acquired quite an eclectic collection!

The inn is indeed alive, but all the while exudes a sense of tranquility. Enchanting, seasonal gardens surround the patio and cover the grounds. The mountains rise up in the west from behind a wall of fuchsia bougainvillea, and nearby, cacti, palms, and other indigenous shady trees grow side by side. For the warm months, a stone pool tucked in a private corner is ready for guests to take a dip, and a handmade chaise lounge for lounging lies alongside a bubbling fountain. And in the cooler months? Guests warm themselves by the fire in the color-splashed & art-filled dining room. Here they may peruse Teri's extensive library, sip on a cappuccino, or breakfast on homemade scones with marmalade.
