Located between the Gulf of Mexico and the unique salt water inlet of Celestun, this little niche is rich with ecological wonders, home to many species of water birds and a popular habitat for breeding sea turtles. Dwell among the best that nature has to offer here, spending the days and nights strolling the pristine beach embedded in a vast plantation of dwarf palm trees. Civilized luxuries are as prevalent as the natural wonders here, with a fresh-water swimming pool overlooking the dunes, a cool clubhouse with relaxing diversions and three delicious meals a day creatively prepared in local style with the freshest of ingredients. Exclusively designed, interesting day trips are organized departing from the hotel, covering ecological, archaeological, ethnic, historical and cultural aspects. Area Attractions and Activities: Hotel Eco Paraiso Xixim is surrounded by a 72 acre coconut grove on a small peninsula. To the west, lies the Gulf of Mexico with breathtaking sunsets; to the east the famous "Ría de Celestún", a salt water inlet with unique flora and fauna. Because of its importance as the main feeding area for the American Flamingo and countless species of waterfowl and shorebirds it was decreed a Special Biosphere Reserve in 1989. Regarded by ornithologists as a true treasure trove, the “Ria de Celestun” is home to over 400 species of birds, 13 of which are endemic and found nowhere else in the world. Discover the culture and traditions of the past, not far from us there are three major archaeological sites of great importance: Uxmal, Kabah and Oxkintoc. At the end of the 19th century, sisal production was the main industry in Yucatan.Today you can still feel the glory of those times past when you enter an hacienda.
