Bed and Breakfast Description

The cottages were built in the 18th century of natural tropical hardwood and are set in the midst of the tropical gardens.

The hotel is set on a golden sand beach, in a garden of flowering tropical shrubs on the north-east coast of Dominica, at the foot of the island's highest mountain and just half a mile from Portsmouth.

Located at the foot of Morne Diablotin, the island's highest mountain, the hotel is the perfect starting out point for experiencing the wonders of Dominica's natural sites.

An extensive selection of active pursuits is not required for a great vacation. While some will be happier at a resort others are perfectly happy with a small selection of recreational options, because they'd rather spend their time relaxing and exploring their surroundings.

While each vacationer has their own agenda, there is a wide variety of activities and attractions in Dominica. A visit to the hotel's pool probably isn't at the top of your list of things to do, but it provides a great way to spend part of the day.

Following an afternoon in the sun, relax to the sounds of a live performance. Live entertainment is one of the great amenities offered by the Picard Beach Cottages.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Dominica features a host of exciting things to see and do, so you aren't restricted to the specific activities the hotel offers on-location. From a quiet morning relaxing on the beach, to a few hours attending a local cultural event, how you spend your time is completely up to you.

Within easy reach is a coral reef directly north of our jetty, which is excellent for snorkeling.

Other activities include visits to the Cabrits National Park, or the Historic Ruins of Fort Shirley. Rowing up the Indian River, hiking into virgin forests, bird watching, river bathing kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, or maybe Syndicate Waterfalls, are all viably entertaining options.

Also of interest is Morne Diablotin, a nature preserve of the endangered Sisserou, an indigenous parrot.
