Area Attractions and Activities:

Zurich's charming old town with a long history hosts many museums, churches and art galleries. The famous Bahnhofstrasse is an exclusive shopping area in the city center and has many fine cafes, restaurants and bars.

The Niederdorf area on the east bank of the river is a good area for bars and nightlife. Museums include the fairytale Swiss National Museum with a fine collection of work depicting Swiss cultural history, the Kunsthaus, just next to the Hotel, which houses many modern works including paintings by Picasso and Monet.

Other places of interest include the Opera House and Grossmunster and Fraumunster churches. Guided tours of the city are available. The parks around the Zurichsee feature shows by street entertainers.
