In winter or summer, the cable-cars from Adelboden and Lenk make the region one of the largest and most attractive snow sports and walking areas in Switzerland.

Adelboden's "mountain of views", Tschentenalp, only seven minutes from the village center by cabin lift, offers family-friendly skiing, sledging and walking.

Adelboden's "mountain of insight" Engstligenalp lies some 2000m above sea level. The high plateau at the foot of Wildstrubel invites you to walk, free-ride, cross-country ski and to enjoy!

Elsigenalp / Metschalp, Frutigen¿s skiing and walking center invites you to enjoy some memorable days in its personal and relaxed atmosphere.

The funicular takes you up to an altitude of 2336 m. The stairway that runs parallel to the Niesen funicular has a total of 11,674 steps, which according to the Guinness Book of Records makes it the world's longest stairway. From the Niesen Kulm, a wonderful panoramic view of the Bernese Alps, down into the Simmen and Frutig valley.
