![]() Small Hope Bay Lodge is an informal holiday resort located on Andros Island, Bahamas that focuses around the central lodge built of coral rock and Andros pine. Comfortable couches and throw-pillows create a home-like atmosphere. The Lodge houses a dining area, lounge/bar area, game room and reading room. Our friendly relaxed atmosphere makes this not your typical Bahamas hotel. Twenty-one rooms in cottages located directly on the beach, each hand built with overhead ceiling fans (half of the rooms have A/C), locally made furniture, decorated in Batik fabrics, and all with a view of the sea. Each cottage has private bath facilities and either king-size or single beds are available. There are 4 two-bedroom cottages for families, as well as a special "honeymoon cottage." All are shaded by palms and located on the Bay. To the north is a separate secluded swimming beach. Breakfast is full American-style (eggs, bacon, hot cakes, fruit, etc.) or a Bahamian breakfast of chicken souse, boiled fish, steamed tuna, or corned beef plus continental fare. Lunch consists of a hot dish plus full salads, sandwich bar, and dessert bar. Dinner features salad bar, dessert bar, and choice of entree (meat or fish, or a bit of both, served with fresh Island vegetables and a side dish. Bahamian night once a week, and BBQ at least once a week. Desserts are taken very seriously because there are no calories while on vacation.
