Casa Del Sol Bed & Breakfast Inn
Ajijic, Mexico.
Welcome to the comfort and hospitality of Casa del Sol, a beautiful small Inn located in the heart of the 16th century village of Ajijic, Mexico.
Bed and Breakfast Description

Casa del Sol is alive with the vibrant colors of Mexico and inviting with all the comforts of home. Enjoy breakfast in our lovely Hacienda Room and relax outside in the lush garden courtyard by the swimming pool. Revel in the spectacular views of the mountains and Lake Chapala from your private balcony or our rooftop patio.
Explore or relax, and enjoy one of the world’s finest climates. Casa del Sol provides a serene and tranquil oasis in the midst of a quaint and romantic artists’ village.
Nestled between the Sierra Madre mountains and Lake Chapala at 5,000 feet above sea level, Casa del Sol is centrally located on a quiet residential street, just two blocks from the village plaza.
Stroll on cobblestones to the lake, shop in the colorful village, dine at fine restaurants and people watch at the plaza. Bike, hike or horseback ride the roads and trails exploring this beautiful area.
Your host is Cathy Roberts, originally from the Chicago area, but most recently from Kennebunkport, Maine. Casa del Sol was created to share this charming village, and all that it offers, with both old and new friends. Her private living quarters are on site and she is dedicated to making your experience in Ajijic one you will always remember.
Please note also that group bookings of the entire inn are also available. Contact us for more information.

Area Attractions and Activities:
Ajijic (Ah-hee-heek) has the normal services of the 21st century - water treatment plants, electricity, cellular phones, and the Internet. But when you first arrive here what you see is the mystery and charm of a 16th century village. Restaurants buy mesquite firewood for their grills from a local farmer, who delivers it on his donkeys. Cows and horses graze along the lake, and maize is grown everywhere, to be made into corn tortillas, a staple of the Mexican diet.
The narrow cobblestone streets remind us of old Europe. Drive with your window rolled down, so you can hear the clip-clop of horses' hooves; just around the corner you may see a caballero riding to work on his horse, a common sight in the village.
Family is the most important part of life in Mexico. Children play in the streets and the village square, but it is rare to see them fighting. Often you will see an older child holding a younger one's hand as they walk to school.
Most Popular Rooms:
La Chimenea has a king bed and large En Suite bathroom with two sinks, plus a charming corner fireplace.
La Terraza has a queen bed, with patio doors to a large terrace and balcony overlooking the pool courtyard - the mountain views are gorgeous. While this room is smaller than others, it has the largest and best terrace balcony.
