Biron,  bed and breakfast: Le Prieure' du Chateau de Biron

Le Prieuré was built between 1499 and 1515 upon the fortified walls of the village as the home of the 6 new priests who came to serve in the newly build church.

Today, it is a lovely Bed and Breakfast where guests will find luxury accommodation in a wonderful historic setting. Carefully restored while preserving original features such as the cobbled stone courtyard, the well worn flagstones in the foyer, the wide stone spiral staircase Le Prieure has been decorated with the comfort of the guests in mind.

There are 5 large bedrooms all with sitting areas, lovely views over the countryside, en-suite private bathrooms and WCs. Additional amenities such as tea and coffee trays, safeboxes, fans, bathrobes, hairdryers are included.

The garden is open to all our guests where they can sit on the terrace for breakfast while enjoying the stunning views across to Monflanquin and the Lot valley or in the evening relax with a glass of delicious wine from the Bergerac region and watch the magnificent sunset.

Visit medieval villages and towns, castles, pre-historic caves, or just drive around taking in the lovely countryside. You can also go for wine tastings in the Bergerac or Cahors region. And don't forget the many festivals throughout the region.

For the sports minded there is golf, tennis, canoing, boating, bicycling, horseback riding and other activities are within just a half-hours drive of Biron.

However, just being lazy in the mature garden with a glass of wine or champagne is perfectly acceptable.

Wonderful local markets and fantastic restaurants may tempt you to explore our area.

The region comes alive in Spring and Summer and Fall, with outdoor events everywhere. During the months of July and August the Château de Biron is the site of many performances by world renowned artists. Each town has its own outdoor festivals and events - every week there is something to do.


Most Popular Rooms:

"Le Cardinal" is our best and largest room. It has a huge fireplace with gorgeous walnut mantel, its own outside entry to the gardens, has a high beamed ceilings, and like all of our rooms offers a lovely view as well as a large en-suite bathroom.

The Prieur bedroom would be our second best room, with high ceilings, fireplace with a mahogany mantel. It is furnished with a lovely four-poster bed, sitting area. There is also a large en-suite bathroom. It has a wonderful view across the countryside.
