Area Attractions and Activities:

There is so much to see and do in this area of the
Yucatan that more than likely you won't be able to
enjoy it all in one trip.

Amazing archaeological sites like one of the 8th wonders of the world, Chichen Iza, Uxmal and Kabah, Dzibilchaltun are but a few within 15 minutes to an hours and a half from Merida. There are great sight seeing buses that can take you to any of them. Most people use these for the day trips and they have English speaking guides. Turitransmerida Tour Operator has daily tours in comfortable air conditioned buses.

Just north of Merida is Progreso and all of the beach communities. A fantastic little Mexican town famous for its Malecon. In both Merida or Progreso you will find fine food and friendly natives always ready to help you. If you want to stroll down the beach, then Progreso is the place. Enjoy open air restaurants, sit under a palapa and have a wonderful margarita or cold cervesa. You will just enjoy watch local sales to Cruise Passengers.
