Casa Colonial

Oaxaca, Mexico.

An inn that is run very much as a country manor. The extensive library, friendly Oaxacan staff, lush gardens, personal service, excursion arrangements and superior food have made Casa Colonial a destination in itself for 30 years!

Bed and Breakfast Description

Oaxaca, bed and breakfast: Casa Colonial

Casa Colonial was once an elegant private home. Now, it is a charming 15 guest room accommodation, with a lovely dining room, unique library/living room and spacious covered verandas that surround lush, flower-filled tropical gardens.

North American owners Jane and Thorny Robison and our friendly, efficient staff continue the Casaīs 30 year tradition of hospitality, information and assistance to create a cultural bridge that will make your Oaxaca experience memorable. This in not an ordinary hotel.

Our rooms, with private baths, surround a central courtyard. There is a large, comfortable living room/library with an amazing selection of books, many of which are about Mexico and Oaxaca in particular.

We are continually reminded that our meals are outstanding. Meals are prepared with purified water by the same women who started when the Casa opened.

Although the winter months in Oaxaca offer a warm and dry respite for North Americans, the summer months are very pleasant -- green, warm but not hot, with late afternoon thunderstorms. For anyone wishing a laid-back atmosphere and a wonderful experience, the Casa Colonial is the place.

What we are... and arenīt! Our rooms with private baths, many with antique furniture, donīt have TVīs or telephones, and are not all alike. There is no sign above our purple door. We have limited secure parking, telephone, fax and Internet service (including WiFi) for our guests, but no pool.
