While the Quinta is a family owned bed and breakfast where peace, serenity and relaxation dominate your experience, it is also a working certified organic farm. The Manor House and Guest House maintain the original traditional architecture of the region.

Bed and Breakfast Description

When the land of the Quinta was purchased in 1994, it had been abandoned and was overrun with wild vegetation. On the property were ruins of buildings, some of which have been restored.

Every guest will find what they are looking for in the Quinta experience, whether ecologic, cultural or artistic. The agricultural production is certified organic and food may be consumed right from the farm as it is naturally fertilized and grown without pesticides. Guests are welcome to participate in the daily farm work.

The landscape at the Quinta includes a plantation of thousands of lime trees and another of pine trees. There are many native specimens for the bird or flower enthusiast.

With three suites, the Quinta do Rio Touro accommodations can be flexible enough for families and friends. Main House amenities include private bathrooms for each bedroom, central heating, fireplaces, common areas, satellite TV and a smoke-free environment. The common areas are available for all Quinta guests and include a living room with fireplace, a terrace leading to the upper garden, open-air dining, a pool and changing area, restrooms, a sauna and an exercise room. Both houses are filled with antiques and treasures from the Reino’s diplomatic travels.

The Guest House is also a smoke-free facility and offers two suites, one bedroom and a common room - library, playroom, artist, atelier or a small conference room with Internet access.

Only 300 meters from the Quinta, the village Azóia offers five star - bistro type restaurants specializing in crustaceans, fish and grilled food. Fine sand beaches – windsurf, fishing, sailing are in abundance. Six golf courses and horseback riding are very nearby.

Cascais, a neighboring community offers everything, including a vast stretch of coastline, rich cultural lifestyles, and the availability of all kinds of games. On the way to Cascais/Estoril are fine dunes and long beautiful and sandy beaches, and an active coastline town with restaurants, bars, nightclubs, marina, museums and casino.

Lisbon became the capital of Portugal in the XII century, after the reconquest, and is today known as the city of the seven hills, overlooking the Tagus River.

Lisbon offers a rich and diversified opportunity for tourism, with culture, history, art gastronomy and all the attractions of an European cosmopolitan city.
