This is the former residence of one of the leading families in Patzcuaro. Mansion Iturbe is an enchanting inn nestled in front of Vasco de Quiroga Square. This XVII Century Mansion has been meticulously restored to its former splendor by the descendants of the original owners.

The majority of the rooms have private balconies that overlook either Vasco de Quiroga Square, one of the main attractions in Patzcuaro, or Iturbe Street, one of the nicest. Bicycles are available and exclusive tours may be arranged.

The restaurant at the inn is "El Viejo Gaucho" with fine music and great drinks, it is open only for dinner. The open air Snack Bar is the perfect spot to have lunch or enjoy our famous cappuccino. The inn also offers a Patio Bar exclusively for our guests at the complimentary cocktail and social hour. There is also a solarium and a living room. Classrooms are available for small groups.

Patzcuaro is a jewel of Colonial Mexico from the XVI Century. It's the center of the Purepechan Culture where you will find history, traditions and folklore. Archaeological sites, the unique Lake Patzcuaro with its islands and the world famous butterfly nets as well as the Indian villages that surround the Lake.

Patzcuaro is a paradise for handcraft lovers, where you can find: woven goods, ceramics, masks, copper crafts, straw handicrafts, textiles and much more... Don't miss the traditional market on Fridays! The National Park has hot springs & waterfalls, then there is Particutin Volcano.

Patzcuaro is located 3 hours from Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo connected by a new highway. From Morelia Airport you can find direct flights to: Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, Chicago, Portland and Houston. Domestic flights also available to Mexico City, Monterrey and Tijuana.
