 The hotel has a traditional Yucatan home ambiance with a flair for the eclectic. Its tranquil elegance welcomes guests as they walk through its original stone doorway. Antique Carrera black and white marble floors and Moorish arches frame the main interior fountain gardens. Antique furniture, Pre-Columbian Mayan Art and Colonial artifacts are found in every corner of the hotel. After checking in and settling into your room, we hope you will take time to relax in our gardens or pool area, have breakfast or dinner in either the central courtyard area or in Las Palomas Bistro, surrounded by lush tropical garden and trees. Casa del Balam features two fine boutiques and includes among its amenities a concierge and a complimentary membership to the private La Ceiba Golf Club and Spa, just north of the hotel. Spa Services such as facials and reflexology massage can be provided in the privacy of your room. The Hotel features 51 rooms in two sections. The original residence (Casa Vieja) houses a Special Junior Suite, a Honeymoon Guest Room, and 3 Master Suites. The new building rises six stories high providing the 34 Junior Suites, 7 standard rooms, and 5 Honeymoon guest rooms with lovely views of the Merida. Area Attractions and Activities: Casa del Balam is located just two blocks from the Main Square or Plaza Grande in the heart of the Historic Center, near the Jose Peon Contreras Theater and the University of Yucatan.
