The large Altiplano Plateau is the highest in the world after Tibet. From the highlands the Andes flow down into the low-lying jungle.
Copacabana's Sanctuary. Legend has it that Copacabana was founded by the Inca Tupac Yupanqui as a resting place for pilgrims en route to visiting the nearby Temple of the Sun. During the Holy Week throngs of Bolivians spend several days walking to Copacabana to pay homage to the Virgin.
Calvario. A hill overlooking the village and the lake, visitors purchase some miniatures and pray that the Virgin will provide them with a real one during the year, you can find also Aymara medicine men.
Islas del Sol y de La Luna. They are one of the most magical places in all of South America a great place for hiking, watching some spectacular views, eat great trout, visit pre-Colombian ruins and spend an unforgettable night. One can spend several days on the islands hiking, visiting the archaeological sites and enjoying incredible views and sunrises.
