Bed and Breakfast Description

Built in 1927, the magnificent colonial style residence is the largest classic wooden home in Belize, and is reminiscent of early colonial days. There are large verandas for relaxing, both at the front and rear of the house.

The guest rooms are color coordinated, have lovely hardwood floors and comfortable appointments. Our Courtyard Restaurant and collection of fine shops make "staying home" fun.

The Smoky Mermaid in our courtyard set in the lower garden offers cuisine from both Central America and the Caribbean. You can watch your dinner being prepared on the 18th century bricked grill. The restaurant is set among tropical trees with the mermaid fountain completing the relaxing setting.

Our on property tour operator makes arranging trips to the barrier reef, Mayan sites, Mountain Pine Ridge and scuba diving, easy and inexpensive.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Enjoy a boat ride from Belize City to several miles inland. You may see several varieties of birds and troops of Howler Monkeys. Then board a tour bus to Altun Ha Maya for 'Rock Stone Water".

Water Wonderland/Belize Zoo - Travel down Halover Creek to Gales Point Manatee, a short hike through the rain forest takes you to a remote cave. A tour bus takes you to Belize's historic wildlife habitat known as the Belize Zoo.

You can also visit the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, go cave tubing, visit the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary and the Community Baboon Sanctuary.
