Bed and Breakfast Description

Stratford-upon-Avon, bed and breakfast: Victoria Spa Lodge

The Lodge was built in 1837. Queen Victoria gave her name to the hotel and her coat-of-arms is built into the gables.

Set in the country overlooking Stratford canal, all rooms have modern conveniences.

Breakfast is full or vegetarian, in the elegant dining room.

A Family Room is now available to accommodate up to 5 people, featuring 2 private baths, a single and a double.

We received the Food Hygeine Inspection Silver Award with our most elegant antique furnished dining room. We are open all year. We are AA approved with Four (4) Star property accreditation, Heart of England Tourist Board certified, and recognized by Best B&B, Frommers, and many others. We received the 1995 Small Hotel of the Year award, and accredited with the Visit Britain 4 Star Silver Award.

Queen Victoria once stayed here as a guest, when she was a Princess and while this place was a Spa. Captain Bruce Bairnsfather, cartoonist creator of “Old Bill” during the Great War, lived here, as did Sir Barry Jackson, the founder of the Birmingham Repertory Theater.
