Whether it be for an artists' retreat of a weekend getaway, Marcel creates a home away from home experience, like no other found in Amsterdam. In addition, Marcel is a charming, effervescent host who provides in the know answers to all of your questions about wonderful Amsterdam.

For 36 years, Marcel has let rooms to artist and visitors from all over the world. His elegant rooms are beautifully furnished and original artwork adorns the walls. Each room boasts a variety of amenities providing a level of style and comfort that is unrivaled in Amsterdam.

Marcel's home is easily accessed from Centraal Station and is in walking distance to a wide variety of shops, cafes, bars, nightclubs, cinemas, bicycle rental and major museums, including Rijksmuseum and the van Gogh Museum. The back house of Marcel's property is Amsterdam's first cinema, De Uitkijk.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Museums in the area include The Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum (modern art) and the Van Gogh Museum, all within a 5 minute walk. The Anne Frank house is a 10 minute walk on the Pinsengracht.

Other nearby attractions include Leidseplein, Famous for the Amsterdam City Theater, the clubs Melkweg and Paradiso, the comedy club Boom Chicago, and Holland Casino, the biggest casino in Western Europe. Right around the corner are two of the top three Jazz Clubs, Bourbon Street and Alto Jazz Cafe.

An excellent place to go for breakfast around the corner is the Restaurant De Sneeker Pan Kerkstraat 46-48, there is also Van Puffelen, and Café-Restaurant De Jaren. The Wagamama is a Japanese kitchen, the Tempo Doeloe is an Indonesian/Chinese kitchen.

The Patio Suite with 2 beds is an elegant large room. All private facilities. TV & Stereo. Opens on to a private garden.

The Style Suite is a 1970's design, featuring a double bed, private shower, with toilet just outside. It includes a TV & Stereo, and overlooks the quiet Patio Garden. This non-smoking room is unique and consequently priced a little higher.
