    Sarlat-La-Caneda, capital of Perigord Noir, is famous for its fifteenth and sixteenth century houses with their ancient lauze–roofs (flat stones).

    The town today welcomes visitors from all over the world to enjoy it’s rich history and beautiful honey colored buildings. On Saturdays and Wednesdays there is a large colorful market held in the Place de la Liberté, with stalls spilling out to cover the Traverse. During the summer months there is street entertainment in the evening and many festivals are celebrated to the enjoyment of all.

    There is a wide choice of restaurants with a variety of cuisines and price levels, all within easy walking distance.

    Some of the many activities include canoing, horse riding, adventure parks for children and adults alike, fishing, golf and cycling.

    The world renowned caves at Les Eyzies. The stunning gardens of Eyrignac and Marqueyssac. The chateaux of Les Milandes, Castelnaud and Beynac are some examples of the wonderful sites to visit.
