Bed and Breakfast Description

The Orquideas Inn is an intimate boutique hotel with 19 rooms, 6 suites and a 2 bedroom Geodesic dome, which spread out from the Spanish style Hacienda of a former coffee planter. All accommodations are tastefully decorated and complete with air conditioning, fans, telephones, satellite TV, hairdryers, coffee makers and safes.

The Orquideas Inn offers so much. We have tropical trees and gardens adoring our property. Our rooms are spacious, some with private doors with access to the pool or the orchid patio, that are decorated in hand crafted Costa Rican wood or bamboo furniture, on rosewood floors, and painted in pastels or the traditional deep blue and white of Costa Rica. Some of our balconies overlook the Poas Volcano while some our plush gardens. Bathrooms in general are large, and tiled.

Try a tropical drink in our Marilyn Monroe Bar, or indulge your palate in our restaurant with delicious national, international or vegetarian cuisine. You simply have to experience our "Best Breakfast in Costa Rica" as included with our accommodation.

Our gift shop features local crafts, and art. We also offer spa services. We have the ability to accommodate large conferences and weddings as well.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Poas Volcano

An active volcano that stands 8,659 feet tall and is located in the middle of a scenic National Park. It is reached by a paved road right to the top, from where the crater is only a ½ mile gentle hike. Poas’ crater is the 2nd largest in the world and its geyser’s still spew sulfuric steam making it the largest geyser in the world. There are many marked trails through virgin Cloud Forest and also to beautiful Botos Lagoon which was formed in one of the volcano’s extinct craters.

Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs

Located in a 7,200 acre national park. It is currently the most active volcano in Costa Rica with almost constant activity and lava flow. If the skies are clear and your timing is right the flowing lava provides a spectacular natural fireworks show which is often accompanied by an earth shaking rumble. It’s an experience that can’t be described. The park also has trails through forest and old lava flows, which are unique and enjoyable.

The Pool Side is conveniently located near pool and main building and surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. They comfortably sleep up to 4 people and are decorated in a Spanish hacienda style with vibrant colors of green, orange, yellow, and terracotta.

The Geodesic Dome is a unique free standing 2 bedroom dome nestled in seclusion in our tropical gardens, yet conveniently located to the pool and main area. Soaring domed ceiling and 4 skylights provide a light airy living space.
