Bed and Breakfast Description

In Ka'an B&B is a put-up-your-feet-and-relax place, if that's what you want. It's a fun place with an inviting pool for the more energetic. It's whatever you want it to be for a day, a week or a month.

You'll sleep like a baby in either of the three guest bedrooms in the main house, each with its own bathroom/shower facilities en suite and a cheery outlook onto the inner courtyard. Each bedroom has air conditioned comfort. You'll enjoy a full breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pool and gardens.

Our fully furnished guest houses and apartments offer all the comforts of home as well, including en suite bathrooms and air conditioned bedrooms.

You will enjoy a full breakfast in a choice of settings, that include, under the covered terrace that leads onto the patio/pool area, where there is a full size swimming pool and a 22 meter lap pool, or under the Palapa, the distinctly Yucatecan thatch covered terrace adjacent to the pool.

After a day of sightseeing, perhaps dinner in Merida, come back for a rest in our living room where you can watch satellite TV, choose from a library of contemporary and classic movies, or simply put up your feet and do absolutely nothing. But don't forget to select a paperback from our mini library to take back to your room for bedtime or pool side reading. At night, sink back into your comfortable bed and drift off into the sleep of the totally relaxed. Buenas noches!

Area Attractions and Activities:

In Ka'an is strategically located as your starting point for culinary tours of the many fine restaurants, museums, and art galleries, the city of Merida has to offer, or, as a base for exploring all the very nearby ruins. Easy day trips will let you experience such famous locations as Chichen-Itza, Uxmal and Kabah.

Chichen Itza - The best known Mayan ruin site is located along side Hwy. 180, 121km east of Merida. The size and majesty of this ancient Mayan city are unforgettable.

Uxmal - The most famous site along the Ruta Puuc, Uxmal is approximately 79km south of Merida on Route 261, which is the main highway between Merida and the city of Campeche. Uxmal features finely sculpted reliefs and enormous masks. A great deal of Uxmal remains unrestored, however the structures which have been, namely the pyramids.

Kabah - One of the four smaller Puuc sites, and well worth seeing, Kabah is 23km south of Uxmal on Route 261. The most fascinating building is the Palace of the Masks.
