![]() The proprietor is a Spanish artist and art collector. He studied art at La Llotja, the same school Picasso attended. A native of Barcelona, he is an excellent resource for information. He's also more than happy to give guided tours of his city. Walk the Gothic area and he will point out where Christopher Columbus met with the King and Queen of Spain. Our bed and breakfast has four bedrooms and one suite, 3 bathrooms, a media and living room, and a large kitchen for everyone's use. There are hard wood floors with oriental rugs, beautiful furniture with in laid Spanish designs. Adorning the walls are oil paintings, prints, pottery and carvings. Some artwork is for sale. Antique gold mirrors and leaded glass doors to the study give the place an elegant style. Barcino 147 is located downtown in L'Eixample: a central district of Barcelona. Our bed and breakfast is ideally situated near "Avinguda Diagonal" and "Paseo de Gracia", two of the most visited avenues in this Spanish city. There you will find "La Pedrera," a unique and exquisite house designed by Gaudi. Paseo de Gracia runs into Placa De Catalunya, a large square with grand monuments throughout. Continue on and you will run into Las Ramblas, the most famous walking street in Barcelona. The street is tiled by the famous Barcelona artist, Miro and has one of the city's oldest markets. Wander off the Ramblas to the Gotic area, the very colorful section of Barcelona. Here you'll discover the city's largest cathedral. Area Attractions and Activities: Eat in cozy and bohemian restaurants. Try your hand bargaining at the colorful flea market. Have a desire to get out of the city for a day excursion? Your host can take you up the coast of Costa Brava to a little seaside town, or stop at a cove where you can swim and eat fresh caught seafood right on the beach. Your host will have many recommendations not found in guidebooks. Our location is fantastic. You can walk to many popular destinations. A few minutes away from our bed and breakfast is the major avenue, Paseo de Gracia. Here you will find elegant shops and a diverse selection of restaurants and outdoor cafes where you can watch the crowd passing by. On Paseo de Gracia you can tour Gaudi's building "la Predrera," where they have excellent art exhibitions, free of charge. The hip neighborhood of Gracia is just a few minutes in the opposite direction.
