Developed as early as 1400BC by the Babylonians, the water clock was invented to replace the less accurate sundial; only 20 water clocks are on display worldwide and just 3 in North America. Later on, take the whole bed and breakfast family to Middleton’s Memory Lane Railway Museum, which features fascinating railroad artifacts! Or perhaps spend a day of your bed and breakfast getaway at the MacDonald Museum, which is located in Canada’s first consolidated school. The MacDonald Museum features extensive collections of antique clocks, a 1940s classroom, a depression era general store, community art, a natural history exhibit and greenhouse and Middleton’s Sports Heritage Hall of Fame. Another of Middleton’s historic sites include, Holy Trinity Church, which was built in 1789, features colonial Nova Scotian architecture. Middleton’s parks are definitely a point of pride for the town.
