Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter, melted 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. Vinegar 1 tsp. flour 3 eggs, beaten well 1 tsp. cornmeal 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust Instructions: This is a yummy pie that is excellent for the spring and summer months. It is a traditional pie for the Southern regions; one which was often served at afternoon teas in Louisville and a popular treat in the restaurant at Stewart's, once Louisville's largest department store. Give your family and friends something delightfully different with this selection! Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well, but don't beat it to death. Bake in a 300 degree oven until mixture is golden-colored. You'll have to check as each oven is different. Turn oven down to 200 degrees and continue baking for 40 minutes. This pie cannot be rushed, or the surface will burn in spots, like a leopard, so treat it kindly. |
