Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Ingredients:
Dough:
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1/4 cup butter or margarine-softened

1 recipe almond paste:
1 cup blanched almonds
2 Tbsp water
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp almond extract

3/4 cup raspberry jam

Streusel:
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9" springform pan.


Instructions:

Prepare almond paste by grinding almonds in food processor. Add water, powdered sugar and almond extract. Mix well and set aside.

Put all the dough ingredients in a medium pan and beat on low speed one min to mix. Then beat on medium speed for two minutes. Spread dough in prepared pan. Spread raspberry jam over dough and the almond paste over jam. Sprinkle with streusel. Bake about 40-45 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool in pan, remove from baking dish and put on serving dish. Glaze lightly with a mixture of 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 tsp almond extract and enough water to make a thin glaze.
