Ingredients: 2 cups quick oats 3 cups boiling water 1 1/4 teaspoon salt Butter Maple syrup Instructions: Stir oats and salt into boiling water. Cook 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Cover. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes. Pour into an 8"x5" loaf pan. Cool. Chill overnight. Turn out. Cut into 1/2" thick slices. Brown in butter over medium heat in skillet, turning once. Serve with butter and syrup. |
