Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Ingredients:
Pastry:
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
4-5 tablespoons ice water

Filling:
3 eggs
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup dark or light corn syrup
1 cup pecan halves or broken pecans

Instructions:
Pastry:

Cut in fat with pastry blender as soon as well coated with flour, rub with finger-tips until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Make a well in the center, pour in 4 tablespoons water, and mix quickly with a knife (adding more water if necessary to give a firm, not sticky, dough).

Filling:
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Prepare pastry.
Beat eggs, sugar, salt, butter and syrup with rotary beater.
Cover bottom of pie shell with pecans.
Pour syrup over nuts.
Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until filling is set.
