Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients:
1 loaf raisin bread (16 slices)
1 stick sweet butter, melted
4 eggs and 2 egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup cream
3 cups milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon vanilla

Instructions:
Spray a 9"x12" baking pan with non-stick coating.
Brush one side of each bread slice with the melted butter and arrange in an overlapping pattern in the baking dish. Pour the remaining butter over the bread.

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and the egg yolks. Add the milk, cream, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla and whisk well. Pour the mixture over the bread and let sit for 5 minutes.

Bake uncovered in a preheated 350 degree oven for 50 minutes. The custard should be set and the top should be nicely browned. Let stand for 15 minutes before cutting into squares. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

There is no need to serve maple syrup with this French toast. Slices of ham go nicely.
