Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Ingredients: 20 slices homemade-style white bread. (Amish, Friendship bread or Old Fashioned Buttermilk bread.) crusts discarded. Cut into 1 inch cubes. 2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese - cut into 1 inch cubes. 1 cup blackberries or blueberries (frozen or fresh) 12 large eggs 1/3 cup maple syrup (or you can substitute 1/3 C orange juice) 2 cups milk 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla Instructions: Arrange half the bread cubes in buttered 9x13 inch baking dish. Scatter cream cheese and berries over bread. Arrange remainder of bread cubes on top. Whisk together eggs, syrup, milk and vanilla. Pour over mixture. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Bake covered 30 min and uncovered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. |
