Ingredients:
4 large baking apples of your choice, peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup fresh or dried cranberries
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup lightly toasted chopped pecans
1/4 cup flour
6 tablespoons unsalted butter cut into small pieces

Instructions:
Place apple slices and cranberries in a 9 inch pie plate. Add lemon juice, 3 tablespoons of the brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of the ground ginger and salt, toss to combine. Pat fruit to compress in plate. Flatten top evenly. Combine oats, nuts, flour, remaining brown sugar and remaining ginger in medium bowl. Cut in butter using pastry blender or fingers to distribute evenly. Sprinkle evenly over fruit, press down lightly.Bake at 375 until topping is golden and fruit is soft when pierced with sharp knife, 40 - 50 minutes. Serve warm.
