Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Yield: 4 dozen 

Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
Pinch salt
2 eggs, well beaten
1 teaspoon soda, dissolved in 2 tablespoons cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Instructions:
Cream together shortening, sugar, beaten eggs, soda and cream mixture and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and cream of tartar and add to first mixture. Chill, roll out on floured pastry cloth, and then cut into desired shapes. Keep dough chilled. Remove only the amount of dough to be rolled out. Then sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
