3/4 tsp. Salt
1 tbsp. Baking powder
2 tbsp. Sugar
6 tbsp. Shortening
3/4 cup milk

Instructions:

Sift together: flour, salt, baking powder and sugar into mixing bowl. Cut in shortening, thoroughly, till mixture looks like cornmeal. Add milk, all at once, blend quickley. Dough should be light and soft. Knead lightly and briefly on a floured board. Roll to 1/2" thickness, cut with a biscuit cutter. Sprinkle top with sugar. **Note: instead of cutting in biscuit shape, you can roll as one piece on cookie sheet and cut into squares after baking.
