Ingredients: 3/4 cup honey 3/4 cup oil 2 teaspoons vanilla 4 cups rolled oats (traditional, not instant) 2 cups bran buds 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts Instructions: Put the honey, oil, and vanilla in a small pot and heat it. Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. When the honey mixture is warm, pour it over the dry ingredients and toss thoroughly. Using a large cookie sheet with sides, or even two cookie sheets, spread the granola out evenly. Place in a warm (300 degrees) oven for about 15-20 minutes. Check every 5 minutes or so and turn the mixture on the pan with a spatula. The granola should be a little brown when done. It will crisp as it cools. Place in a Ziploc when cool and use as you wish. *We make this granola, along with other homemade goodies, as part of our continental breakfast for our guests. |
