Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups shortening 2 cups sugar 1/2 cup dark molasses 2 eggs 4 cups flour 4 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp cinnamon 2 tsp ginger 2 tsp cloves Instructions: Mix shortening and sugar, add molasses and eggs. Then add and mix dry ingredients. If you use a mixer, blend only on low speed. Refrigerate dough for an hour or more. Shape in balls, flatten slightly, dip one side in sugar. Place sugar side up on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 13 minutes at 375 degrees. |
