Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Ingredients: Filling: 4-5 large apples (tart, firm apples: Jonathan or Granny Smith) 2/3 cup flour 1/2 cup sugar 2 tsp cinnamon 1 cup cranberries Topping: 1 cup oats 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 cup granola 3/4 cup chopped walnuts 3 tsp butter Instructions: Peel, core and chop apples into chunky bite-size pieces. In a large bowl, combine apples, flour, sugar and cinnamon until well coated. Mix in cranberries. Pour into deep 8" pie dish. Should be rounded and full. In medium bowl combine oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, granola and walnuts. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture becomes mealy. Spread topping over apple mixture evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. |
