Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Yield: 5 dozen 

Ingredients:
1 cup margarine or butter, softened
2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups oatmeal
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons margarine or butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions:
In a large mixer bowl, beat 1 cup margarine until creamy. Add half the flour, brown sugar, eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla and soda. Beat until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour and oatmeal. Cook chocolate chips, condensed milk and 2 tablespoons margarine over low heat until chocolate is melted, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in remaining vanilla and nuts. Pat 2/3 of oat mixture into bottom of ungreased 15"x10"x1" rimmed cookie sheet. Spread chocolate mixture on top. Dot with remaining oat mixture.

Bake at 350°F about 25 minutes or until top is lightly golden. Cool and cut into bars.
